......and there's me looking at the weather and just like Peter (Checksfield), decided that best place to be was here; researching and studying....In my e-mail was a photo of Tomson and Wooton brewery complete with trees, dray, barrels of the 'good stuff' with lots of people. A sociologists dream of some years ago. Anybody fancy dating it?
Thanks John for taking the trouble to pass this fantastic photo to me maybe this could be the 'jolt' that'll remind people they have something interesting for me!
When I get some results from the local paper archives, I'll pass it on after adding the information to my notes.
I notice the 'Extra' could be in trouble. I'm afraid that if I pay for something advertising a service that will happen on the Friday and the paper arrives on the following Saturday or not at all. Then I'd expect the advertisers/customers of the paper to go elsewhere, withdrawing their support.
With electronic means of communication broadcasting news and events immediately. The days of 'snail' mail and newspapers are gone. Obviously daily, weekly and monthly sheets with interesting articles and points of view, still have a market for the moment....but for how long?
